                                                       January/February 2009

From the Office of the GRAND KNIGHT:

I hope you and your families had a wonderful, healthy, and Merry Christmas.  This is the time spent with our loved ones.

But let us not forget those families who have someone serving our country.  Let us keep them in our prayers for their safety

and a speedy return home.  Keep our Brother Knights Kevin Hopkins and Oscar Maldonado in your prayers.  We are now

into the winter months and another celebration of the birth of Jesus has just passed.  I believe that this might be the time of the

year to embrace the first principle of our Order-Charity.  Let us all take some time during this holiday season to do an act of charity,

it need not be known to anyone but yourself.  But so long as we do something for another person, family or an animal, I'm sure that

you will feel just a bit better than before.

The building dedication was held on November 15 and everyone who attended had a good time.  The food was excellent and

the music was great.  I want to extend my thanks and congratulations to the members of the committee for a job well done and for

all the time and effort they put into making this a successful event.

I also want to extend my thanks to Pat Pecoraro, PGK for another extraordinary effort with the Right To Life church collections

and to those few members who turned out to offer help.  I can only imagine just how much more we could have collected if more members

came to help.  Thank you again Pat for a job well done.

Andy Onacilla again chaired the Keep Christ in Christmas Essay contest and did his usual great job.  The winners were invited to read their

winning essays at our December 1 meeting.  Each of the winners were given a savings bond and a certificate.

The Council has several events coming up in the next few months.  I'll mention two that are being held; the first is on January 24, the murder

mystery dinner show and the second is on February 14, a bus trip to the Mohegan Sun is scheduled.  I would like to see the membership to

come out and support these events.  The Brothers have worked hard to put these programs together and deserve your support.

I would like to wish you all a very Happy & Healthy New Year.

                                                                                         Fraternally,

                                                                                               Rich Ludwiczewski, Grand Knight

and Happy & Healthy New Year!  Pray for Peace
