March/April 2009
From the Office of the GRAND KNIGHT:
Winter has now made way for Spring. In the coming months we'll see the blossoming of flowers, trees and plants once again. This also marks the
start of a busy time for our Council. We closed the winter with two events. Our annual Free Throw Contest which was held on January 31st. This
year we experimented by moving up the start time to 9:30am. This resulted in a larger number of participants and extremely good turnout of Knights.
Andy Onacilla, chairman did an exceptional job once again. I want to thank Andy and all members who gave their time on Saturday morning. On
Feb. 16th the Deceased Members Mass was held. I would like to have seen more members attend to honor our departed Brothers. Many of
these brothers gave of their time for the betterment of our council. It is the least we can do to attend the mass in their honor. Lets do better next
year. Included in the Dec. Star were two 50/50 raffle tickets and a letter explaining the reasons for the raffle. But to reiterate, our scholarship
account is depleting as our other accounts. We need to raise revenue in order to continue our scholarship program and our charitable donations.
I ask that you please purchase the tickets. The drawing will be held at our Communion Breakfast on April 5. Should you like to have additional
tickets please call Ted Hojnowski.
Moving forward, our Spelling Bee will be held on March 5th at 7:00pm. The council will march in the St. Patrick's Day parade on March 22 at
1:00pm. Plans have been finalized for our Communion Breakfast to be held on April 5th at 10:00am following the 9:00am mass at St. Mary's.
In closing I am asking my brother Knights to please to come to these events. We need to show that each of these events are important to us and that
we care about our youth and community.
Fraternally,
Rich Ludwiczewski, Grand Knight
