May/June 2009
From the Office of the GRAND KNIGHT:
Our 111th Palm Sunday Communion Breakfast was held on April 5th. This was our first breakfast in our new home. This year's
breakfast was extremely successful with a capacity crowd in attendance. I want to thank everyone who helped make this event go so
smoothly. Our guest speaker was Kellen Clemens, quarterback of the NY Jets. He spoke eloquently about his family and his faith.
As is customary, we offer a donation to the speaker's favorite charity. Kellen requested that we make a donation to the Knights of
Columbus Right To Life Fund. At the conclusion of the formal portion of the program, he offered to sign autographs for anyone who
requested one. He is one of those athletes that you never hear and what good they do. He is a gentlemen in every way.
This year I selected Bob Bludgus to receive the Outstanding Service Award for his continued work with our free throw contest and
spelling bee. My selection for Knight of the Year was Gary Bejgrowicz. Gary has been instrumental in assisting with a number of
council activities.
Our annual collection drive for Persons with Developmental Disabilities will be held on May 7, 8, 9 at the following locations: A&P,
Stop & Shop, Walgreens, as well as anywhere on Broadway. It is my wish that we have a large number of brother's help I would greatly
be appreciative.
Please come to our next meeting on 4/20 to sign up or call Gary Bejgrowicz at 862-812-9641 cell. Please be advised that at our April 20th
meeting we will hold our ceremony honoring brothers who achieved 25 & 50 years of service. I ask that you attend to help recognize these
men. I would especially like to address our new members to attend. You are the future of the council, you joined or a reason, now is the time
to get involved.
Our council will be holding a First Degree on May 4th. If you have anyone that is interested in joining, now will be the time to have them submit
a form 100.
Lastly, I want to offer my thanks to everyone that attended our breakfast and congratulate again, Bob and Gary. I hope you had a Happy Easter.
Fraternally,
Rich Ludwiczewski, Grand Knight
THANK YOU TO OUR WORTHY GRAND KNIGHT AND ALL HIS OFFICERS AND 4TH DEGREE AND ALSO TO THE HOLDING
CO. FOR WORKING TOGETHER AND DOING A GREAT JOB THIS YEAR.

Communion Breakfast: This years's breakfast was a great success. We had a full house and our guest speaker Kellen Clemens, quarterback
from the NY Jets spoke from the heart, it was not about football, but about his Catholic upbringing, family, and his Christian life, that has
influenced him in becoming a man, husband, and a father. The annual Outstanding Service Award went to Bob Bludgus for all his work in our
free throw and spelling bee events. Thanks again to a brother Knight, a job well done. This award should be shared with Bob's wife, Bee, who
is a great help. This year's Knight of the Year is Gary Bejgrowicz, he has helped the Council, Holding Co., and the Grand Knight and saved the Knights with his expertise in creative displays and in his printing and art work. This saved the council from spending a lot of funds. Gary never said no, he took
on any challenge with a smile, Thanks, are well deserved.
