September/ October 2009
From the Office of the Grand Knight:
I hope you had a safe and healthy summer. Do to the late date, Labor Day, we have a tight
schedule ahead.
Our council will be holding the Installation Mass and Ceremony on Sept 14 at Saint Mary’s Church
7:00pm. sharpe. Light refreshments will follow immediately in the St. Joseph’s rooom.
At our June 15 meeting we elected the Officers for 2009-2010 year. On behalf of myself and
the newley elected officers I would like to thank you. Please join me in congratulating these
Brothers who will help lead our council for the coming year.
We plan on hosting a third degree exemplification sometime in October.
Plans are under way for the 17th Annual Knights - Mason Charity Softball Game. The date has been
set for October 10th at 1:00pm. at Gorman Field. Food and refreshments will follow at the council
after the game.
This year the recipient of the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle is Jillian Elias. She was a victim of an
tragic automobile accident that has left her paralyzed from the neck down. The proceeds will help
the Elias family with the extensive medical bills they continue to incur. The drawing will be held at
our council following the game.
Tickets are $2.00 each or $10.00 for a book of six tickets. I would greatly appreciate your help
in selling as many tickets as possible. Remember the first principle of our Order is CHARITY, lets
step up to this principle. Anyone wishing tickets may call Ted Hojnowski FS at 201-436-5030 or
myself at 201-424-4507. They will also be available at our lounge.
The final plans for Finnigan’s Wake dinner and show have been completed. The date is October 24
at 7:00pm at our council. Tickets are $70.00 per person for a four course dinner. It will be a fun filled
night of good cheer and merriment.
I encourage you to come to a meeting, listen to what is being planned and take an active part.
Fraternally,
Rich Ludwiczewski Gand Knight

Refuse New $ Coins: This simple action will make a strong statement. Please help do this. Refuse to accept these when they are handed to you. From Frank Flynn PGK, I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead. The lady just smiled an said “ way to go “, so she had read this e-mail. Please help out, our world is in enough trouble without this too!!! You guessed it “ IN GOD WE TRUST ” IS GONE!!! If ever there was a reason to boycot something, this is it!! Do not accept the new dollar coin as change. Together we can force them out of circulation..
