WHO WE ARE

During the 1898 war between America and Spain, while William McKinley was president of the United States and while Leo XIII, was gloriously reigning on the throne of Saint Peter, forty-one Catholic men of Bayonne received a charter from the Supreme Council in New Haven. Click Here To View The Original Star of The Sea Charter Members This Council has for many years been recognized as one of the largest in the state of New Jersey with over 900 members.  And in continuing the legacy of our Order and our founding Brothers we work closely with all of our Council parishes including St. Mary's Star of the Sea, St. Andrews, St. Henry's, St. Vincent's, St. Joseph's, St. Michael's, Our Lady of Assumption, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in order to sustain the efforts necessary to fund the many charitable projects which affect our parishes, our community and our member's social lives. Listed below are just a few of the many charities we are involved in.

  • Communion Breakfast
  • March in Memorial Day Parade
  • Collection of donations for Developmentally Disabled Citizens
  • Annual Scholarship for a student attending a Catholic high school as a Freshman
