Membership
The Knights of Columbus is a growing and vibrant service organization of Catholic men and their families, numbering over 1.7 million members in nearly 13,000 local councils worldwide.
Protecting Families
We protect families by offering a variety of benefits to our members and their loved ones. The Order offers our members an insurance program, sold to Knights by Knights, that ranks in the top 4% of all life insurance companies in North America, receiving the highest ranking possible by both Standard & Poors and A.M. Best.
Community Service
Year after year we are one of the top volunteer organizations in the world. In one recent year, our members and their families raised over $100 million for local charitable causes and gave over 50 million volunteer hours to local service programs.
For example, helping collect food and clothing for the homeless -- volunteering at Special Olympics competitions -- raising and donating money to local charitable causes.
Higher Education
We provide various scholarship and fellowship programs to members and their families.These programs are for degree pursuits in several fields of study at both Catholic and public universities and seminaries.
Promoting Fraternalism
We conduct many programs that bring Knights together and strengthen their fraternal bond.Some of these programs include, council athletic teams, family activities and socials.
Serving Young People
We sponsor a wide variety of youth programs, such as the Columbian Squires program, the free throw championship, the substance abuse awareness poster contest and patriotic essay contests.
